What the Smart Card Database collects and how it is used
What data is collected
When EIDAuthenticate submits a compatibility report, the following information is recorded:
- Smart card ATR (Answer To Reset) and name
- Software name and version (EIDAuthenticate)
- Windows version, architecture and service pack level
- CSP / minidriver name, DLL, version and company
- Error code of the authentication attempt
- IP address of the submitting machine (used for deduplication, not displayed publicly)
- Optionally: email address (if provided by the user) and a log file
How data is used
Collected data is used exclusively to build a community knowledge base of smart card compatibility with Windows. No data is sold to third parties. Aggregated statistics are displayed publicly. Individual reports are not linked to personal identity.
IP addresses
IP addresses are stored to prevent duplicate submissions and are not displayed on the public site.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Matomo for privacy-friendly analytics (self-hosted, no data sent to third parties). No advertising cookies are used.
